Sesame Street for Military Families: Website and App Design
Leading the responsive design of the Sesame Street for Military Families website and app was not just a project, it was a mission. Collaborating closely with the development team, I provided art direction and hands-on design work. This partnership with the Department of Defense, aimed to provide invaluable resources for military families facing unique challenges. Through meticulous attention to detail and a deep understanding of their needs, we crafted an experience that offered support, guidance, and comfort to those who serve our nation. While the impact may not be easily quantified, the gratitude and positive feedback from these families underscored the importance of our efforts in making a difference in their lives.
The wireframes were created to facilitate the seamless addition of new content and modules.
Purple Up!
The color palette being primarily in purple hues was strategically aligned with the significance of the color purple in military and the “Purple Up for Military Kids Day!” that is celebrated each year. Purple symbolizes the combined colors of all branches of the military—Army green, Coast Guard blue, Air Force blue, Marine red, and Navy blue.
My homepage icon design incorporates purple stars symbolizing the military, with descending sizes representing a family unit.
Facebook Promo Campaign
Following the project launch, I led the creation of a series of targeted social media promotions for the Sesame Street for Military Families Facebook page. These promos effectively highlighted crucial topics, prompting audience engagement and guiding them to key sections of the website.
